Do you own a Mazda MX5 Mk2 or Mk2.5 ? Would you like to facelift it with a hint of the style of a roadster from the 1950’s or 1960's ? Creating your own "retromod or "restomod" might also appeal.
These photos show a simple body panel kit which is now in production.
The glass fibre kit comprises a front panel at £525, a rear panel at £495 and a replacement boot lid at £ 395. The boot lid is double skinned & has captive bolts for the hinges. The panels can be bought individually or as a two or three panel kit. If the front & rear panels are bought together, the price is £ 995. We expect most customers will collect the kit from the factory in Dorset or head office in Surrey. However, costs & method of packaging for UK distribution, are currently being investigated. We expect van hire ( or a medium sized estate car ) will be more cost effective than a parcel courier
Initially we are only offering this panel kit for sale & use in the UK. The cost of packaging & freight for export are likely to be disproportionately high compared to the value of the kit
Very little mechanical expertise is required to effect the transformation. As it involves simple panel replacement , it is not subject to an Individual Vehicle Approval ( IVA ) test that would apply to a more involved kit car build.
